The latest Pinterest tools of 2022
2022, the year of Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the list goes on… Platforms keep adding digital technology to improve, among other things, the overall user experience, and Pinterest is no exception. In this blog we catch you up on the latest Pinterest tools of 2022. Stay up to date and keep your marketing strategy complete! 😉

Try On for Home decor

First up, a tool that still has to fly over from the United States: ‘Try On for Home decor’. It’s a new AR feature that lets Pinterest users (for now) try out interior products digitally. American retailers like Walmart and Crate & Barrel are putting their products in digitally for it.

With this tool, Pinterest users can first picture new products in, say, their bedroom or living room before they buy. Pinterest claims this delivers the ‘ultimate shopping experience’.

As we described in ‘Pinterest Marketing for starters 2022’, Pinterest aims to inspire as many users as possible. With this new AR feature, Pinterest moves on to turning that inspiration into reality. Pinterest users are 5x more likely to buy from a Try On pin than from a standard pin.

Pinterest has confirmed the tool will soon be available outside the United States too. Shopping will never be the same!

Pinterest Predicts

And then there’s the still little-known Pinterest Predicts. Pinterest Predicts is back, and claims to be bigger than ever. The tool takes a predictive look ahead at what will be trending in 2022 across hundreds of industries.

To predict these trends, Pinterest analyses the searches of more than 400 million monthly users worldwide. With an average accuracy of no less than 80%. Based on these searches, Pinterest then highlighted the most inspiring ideas for the coming year. These predicted trends are open to everyone, so definitely worth it if your business uses the platform!

For 2022, Pinterest Predicts sees vibrant outfits and colours like electric blue, as well as celestial celebrations and even goth style. The predictions range from fashion to beauty to parties, home, pets, wellness and even cars and entrepreneurship. That’s hugely valuable for businesses and for advertising. As the platform itself puts it: “People use Pinterest to plan for the future. That means we know what’s coming”.

Pinterest Predicts: Your 2022

Pinterest also has ‘Pinterest Predicts: Your 2022’: its very first in-app experience. It’s a personalised Idea Pin that takes the user on the following journey:

  1. Ideas you liked
  2. Trends you may have tried first
  3. Your most inspiring month of 2021
  4. The future: predictive suggestions of things to try in 2022
